Hey Carter Coyotes! My name is Marissa Patel and I am thrilled to begin my twelfth year in education as a counselor at Carter Elementary. I graduated with my education degree from the University of Houston (go Coogs!) and my Masters in School Counseling from Lamar University. Prior to coming to Carter, I taught a variety of subjects in third, fourth, and sixth grade. At home I have a wonderful husband, two incredible daughters, and a fur baby.

I am honored to work in education. As a counselor at Carter Elementary, my job is to collaborate with parents and teachers to ensure that our students’ unique needs are met so that they may reach their fullest potential as responsible citizens and lifelong learners. I am extremely excited for this year and the opportunities that are to come for our students.

Please stop in to say hello!

The linked curriculum map includes a library of SEL lessons that may be presented to students throughout the school year. While not all lessons will be used, this collection serves as a flexible resource for the counselor to choose from based on student needs. Parents are welcome to click on the lesson links within the map to preview any content that may be shared with students.
